The United States is the largest producer of electricity from wind. Growth in the industry is continuing. The Department of Energy recently investigated the possibility of producing up to 20% of the nation's energy needs from wind power by 2030. Though this is an ambitious target, the report concluded that it is achievable as the reliability of wind energy systems increases and if the transmission network can be enhanced.

The wind energy market in the nation is very competitive. However with Windlab's WindScapeTM technology, we have a siginificant advantage over competitors in identifying viable sites.

Windlab has a number of developments in the works throughout the nation. Landholder negotiations have begun on the more mature projects (this includes governmental agencies, as well as private landholders). These projects are focused on the western states. We have also begun studying the potential for wind development in the Midwest.

The locations of these projects cannot be given since negotiations with landholders and government agencies are still underway. We expect that more detailed information can be given on the projects within the next few months.
